BAUGHER’s ORCHARD & FARM
Celebrated National Apple Day and Economic Development Week by visiting Baugher’s Orchard & Farm to honor them as a pillar of business in Carroll County!
Beginning in 1904 as a working farm with an orchard and fast forward to today with nearly a thousand acres farmed, two markets, a restaurant, agritourism operation—Baugher’s Orchard & Farm and the family/employees behind it exemplify perseverance, innovation and commitment.
Thank you to Baugher’s for taking time out of their busy schedules to spend time with Carroll County Department of Economic Development and Carroll County Grown.
LIPPY BROTHERS FARMS
Few names are as synonymous with agriculture as ‘Lippy’ is in Carroll County. For Economic Development week, Carroll County Grown and Carroll County Department of Economic Development had the privilege to visit and celebrate Lippy Brothers Farms as a pillar of enterprise, agriculture and community in Carroll County, MD!
Beginning in the 1950’s as small, family farm; Lippy Brothers Farms has grown and expanded into farming over 5000 acres of corn, soybeans, snap peas, hay, wheat and more! Their enterprising nature has also cultivated a thriving export market and poultry production farm.
It is important to note that not only has Lippy Brother’s Inc. historically (and continually) been devoted to the growth and expansion of agriculture but also to the enrichment and preservation of their community. They are not only a pillar of economic development but also of environmental stewardship and agricultural preservation through their steadfast involvement in watershed, erosion, and green space protection programs.
